AT PULANG LUPA
Sitio Santol (Proces), with its ecological diversity, is host to a variety of birds. A natural resting point for birds winging through the Banahaw-Makiling-Taal corridor, the recent years have seen its resident and migratory birdlife increase in numbers as it has provided increasing sanctuary for birds uprooted by the widening perimeter of commerce and sprouting subdivisions.
Some species are becoming rare. Besides the relentless sprawling of housing subdivisions, there is the rural pastime of B-B gun and slingshot bird-sporting that contribute to the decline. Pulang Lupa strictly prohibits these rural 'sporting' activities.
Birdwatching is an opportunity to experience the unspoiled hilly terrain of the more than 50 hectares of sitio Santol that the peak of Pulang Lupa perches on. With its unimpeded panorama of sight and sound, Pulang Lupa offers a unique opportunity for birding.
